Healthy Jelly

Healthy Jello's for Kids

Kids love lollies!

They love the texture, the colours, the shapes and the taste. But they are bad news for several reasons… they have a list of colours, preservatives, flavour enhancers and sugar!

All of which could be detrimental to your kids’ health and moods!

These home-made jello’s look like lollies but I use organic grass-fed gelatin, flavoured with natural sweeteners such as honey or maple or food and natural colours from food such as beetroot.

Not only for kids these are a great little snack for women with hormonal problems.

Collagen which makes up the gelatin is a great source of amino acids, which we need to produce healthy hormones.

Glycine is especially great for your liver, helping it function and process pesticides, xenoestrogens and other toxins.

Collagen also supports healthy thyroid function and offsets cortisol imbalances.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of high-quality gelatin.

  • 2 X 1/2 cup filtered water

  • 1/4 cup of natural sweetener (honey, maple)

  • Juice of 2 oranges

Method:

1.     Mix the gelatin and 1/2 cup of water quickly, then let stand to bloom.

2.     In a saucepan lightly heat the orange juice and 1 cup of water

3.     Add the sweetener

4.     Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until melted over light heat, don’t allow to boil.

5.     Pour into moulds and place in fridge until set.

For the picture above I did 2 lots of flavours. I used coconut milk and this natural food coloring for the bottom, let it set and then put the orange one on top.

Enjoy it!
